General Manager

Our client, a reputable hotel in Kampala, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel Manager to oversee daily operations, drive guest satisfaction, and ensure the smooth functioning of all departments. This role offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and industry standards 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, events and guest services.
  • Lead, train, and motivate department heads and staff to achieve service excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor daily operations, ensuring standards of quality, guest satisfaction, and cleanliness are consistently met.
  • Manage budgets, financial reports, and cost controls in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Implement sales and marketing strategies to increase occupancy, guest loyalty, and revenue.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally, taking proactive steps to improve experiences.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure quality service and cost-effective procurement.
  • Must have systems experience Preferable Ezee.
  • Prepare regular performance reports for the hotel owners/management board.
  • Uphold the hotel's brand values, mission, and reputation at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ proven experience in hotel management or senior hotel operations roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Solid understanding of hotel operations, budgeting, and revenue management.
  • Experience in customer service with the ability to address and resolve issues effectively.
  • Proficient in hotel management systems and basic office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the hospitality landscape within Kampala or Uganda is an added advantage.
